A naval carrier has won the title of "king of staring" for opening his eyes for 57 minutes and 24 seconds straight without blinking, beating his fellows in a marching unit, which will appear in the Sept 3 military parade, Beijing Times reported on Tuesday.
Fu Jun, a carrier of a naval air missile square team, was recommended to take part in the Sept 3 military parade this February.
The honor is a mixed blessing for Fu Jun, because the soldier had to overcome his trachoma, which makes him blink whenever the wind blows, to meet the parade's standard of opening eyes for 40 seconds without closing.
But Fu didn't give up. He insisted on standing against the wind and the sun during formation trainings.
His hard work paid off, and he was able to keep his eyes open continuously for longer and longer. He worked his way up to 10 minutes, then 20 minutes, experiencing less and less tears, until he broke the record at 57 minutes and 24 seconds without closing, the longest time in his marching unit.
Besides Fu, there are also many soldiers trying their best for the Sept 3 military parade.
Shi Shuguo tells his twin brother Shi Shusen about the movements during their spare time when Shi Shusen had difficulty catching up with the training after recovering from an acute gastroenteritis. With their efforts, the twin brothers have performed better and better in their training.
